An Irish born Londoner, Saffron started her costume journey with Wimbeldon school of Art, graduating in 2007 with first class honours. She began her career alongside some of the true titans of film on epics such as Wolfman, Elizabeth, Captain America. Covering all roles within costume enabled a broad and intimate understanding of the workings of the department. Designing shorts and theatre along the way, Saffron specialised in making for period, fantasy and action movies leading to all manner of weird and wonderful projects. At the helm of the department for a number of years, Saffron is an artist that is passionate about stories, focusing closely on the ones that are screaming to be told. She has designed cult classics such as Censor with Prano Bailey Bond which was nominated for nine BIFA’s and premiered at Sundance, Teashop/XYZ’s Thriller, The Wasp starring Naomi Harris and Natalie Dormer premiering at Tribeca, Robert Morgan’s award-winning BFI classic Stopmotion and Flux Gourmet a Peter Strickland film for which she and Giles Deacon were nominated for a BIFA. She designed The Strays for Netflix, As well as Lance Hammer’s feature Queen at Sea released later in 2025. She has designed HETV such as Little Disasters with Paramount+ and upcoming series Criminal Record S2 for Apple.
